This year, for the first time, Israel will join the Global Entrepreneurship Week, an international initiative that began just a year ago and is already considered a great success. Tel Hai will partake in the endeavor through a conference on regional entrepreneurship to take place in the eastern campus during the afternoon and evening of Tuesday, November 17, 2009. The conference will combine lectures and discussions on entrepreneurship with an exhibition of entrepreneurial enterprises in a variety of fields. Chairing the conference is Dr. Eli Gimon from the Department of Economics and Management, and he is assisted by Smadar Rosenfeld-Dahan, responsible for social and economic projects in MIGAL, the Galilee Technology Center, Professor Haim Goren, Chairperson of the College's Research Authority, and Tel Hai's Department of Marketing, headed by Avshalom Cohen.
According to Dr. Gimon, the conference will raise issues connected to entrepreneurship in Israel's peripheral regions, and to creating incentives for businesses and government to stimulate the growth of a local community of young, creative, and energetic entrepreneurs.
Partners to the conference include Israel's Center for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship (CPA, known in Hebrew by the acronym MATI), MIGAL Galilee Technology Center, and Shatil, the New Israel Fund's Empowerment and Training Center for Social Change Organizations in Israel. Tel Hai College invites all interested in being part of the conference or in contributing ideas for it, to contact Diana Rahamim, Coordinator of Conferences and Marketing Communications, at diana@adm.telhai.ac.il.
