Tel Hai College and MIGAL Galilee Technology Center will be at the hub of Science Night, an educational happening for all ages that will take place at various sites in Europe and in Israel on September 24, 2009. In fact, the opening event in Israel will be at the MIGAL building in Kiryat Shemona, and will host leaders from the region as well as Israel's Minister of Science and Technology, Professor Daniel Hershkowitz, and representatives of the Israeli Delegation of the European Union that is sponsoring the initiative.
The fourth year of Science Night in the Upper Galilee will include an exhibition of high school students' projects in science and technology, a science and art fair on the street near MIGAL, including dinosaur sculptures on loan from the National Museum of Science in Haifa, a "science café tent", and "Hyde Park" - open discussions on the evolution of ideas. Visitors will be invited to a tour of the MIGAL laboratories, to a planetarium show, and to lectures and meetings with scientists on such themes as "Animal Evolution", "Fungus for Humans", "The Life of a Star", and more. Most of the lectures and activities will be led by Tel Hai science faculty members who are also researchers at MIGAL. All of the activities are free of charge.
